Clear off your scrapbook table - It's time for Layout A Day! {and an awesome Giveaway}

Peeking inside a scrapbook store or come upon a scrapbooker's work area can be an overwhelming experience for the novice scrapbooker. However, once you understand the basic supplies and photos you need, you can focus on what fits your style and preferences.  The main thing to remember when taking part in Layout A Day is that you are scrapbooking your memories and your scrap projects can be as simple or elaborate as you like.

If you find yourself at this blog today - welcome to the Layout A Day February 2012 Blog Hop: Past Perfect!  And if you have been following along with the fun, you hopped over to me from Kelli at www.scrapbookgirl71.blogspot.com.   If you are not already a part of this group - I am here to convince you to join by confirming you have already followed a few simple, yet essential steps.  If you want to finish a big stack of layouts, be a part of a stellar scrapbooking community, receive daily inspiration for layouts and projects and have a chance to win prizes, then this group is for you! {and if you want to take part in an awesome Giveaway - keep reading!}

First and foremost, is your desk clean?

Do you have a big stack of photos?

Last time you went to the craft store, did you come home with a bagful of supplies that are still in their packages?

Are there monthly kit club boxes stacked on a chair near your scrapbook table?

In addition to having a stash of adhesive - then you are ready for Layout A Day!  It's really that simple! As a member, starting on Wednesday, February 1st - you will receive a daily prompt, video and inspiration to complete a scrapbook layout - at least one per day.  Also - you become a part of a member-only message board and layout gallery that provides endless support, friendly encouragement and daily gifts of motivational tips from like-minded scrapbookers.

If you are an over-achiever like me, you will complete a stack like this:

  1. Oh my gosh! You described me to a tee. Unopened packages, kits unfinished, and stacks of pictures. I do not have a clean desk or stacks of completed layouts. I would love to win a spot in the LOAD class.

  21. Jennifer - I loved seeing your picture of unopened kits. That's so funny - I rush to the mailbox as soon as they arrive, bring them inside and tear them open. I ohhh and ahhh over every little thing, put them back in their baggies, put them in the container I keep kits in (which I'm sad to say has expanded to two bins I keep kits in) and there they sit. What better place to delve into them than during LOAD. Thanks for your post. I can't wait to see what you create.

  24. Did LOAD last February for the first time and I did at least one page everyday! Haven't done as well with the other LOADSs. Trying to find inspiration here on the blog hop. You really hit home for me when you mentioned unfinished kits. Have at least 20 of them. I have printed over 800 pictures recently so I think I should spend some time this weekend seeing if my pictures match any of the kits. Unfortunately I do not have that many embellishments to use with all of my paper stash. Would love to win your goodies giveaway. Also liked your post about letter writing. I am in total agreement. Thanks for participating in the blog hop.

  26. How fun! I have signed up and will participating for the first time! I'm excited and nervous... I don't have a lot of minutes in my day that are "free" but I figure this will force me to find them and then I can use them on a more regular, if slightly less intense way! Thanks for the chance to win an envelope of goodies!

  27. I have signed up for my very first LOAD and I'm hopping along here hoping to get ready for it in some form or fashion! =) I know even if I only do a few layouts, it is better than none (which is what I have done for many, many years now...none). Sorta nervous, but excited, too and hoping this will be the inspiration I need and give me momentum to keep on going! =) Thank you for the chance to win some "mail love"! =)

  29. I'm so glad to be back for another edition of LOAD. I have completed it before but the last couple of times fell short after getting sick half-way through. But each attempt left me with lots of pages, whether or not I was able to finish out the month.

    I'd love to win the goodies. My email is mcscraps4 at yahoo dot com.

  41. I can't WAIT to get started! I am really in need of a kick in the pants to get me back into scrapbooking. I spent the last two years working on nothing but my son's Boy Scout pages in preparation for his Eagle Scout Court of Honor. As you can imagine...it fried my brain! I haven't scrapbooked much of anything in months and months and when I do sit down to work, it takes me forever because I just don't even know where to start! It's also going to be great for my blog at http://craftyneighbor.blogspot.com. I plan to post my layouts there! This is going to be awesome!
    Thanks,
    Cindy
